Naming Jewellery

Finding names for each jewelry creation can be a very daunting task. I choose names in several ways; I may honor a friend by naming a piece of jewelry after her. The people I name them after never actually end up buying them themselves. It’s actually quite funny.

This is a piece I definately made with love. It's called  JUNGLE FEVER. A wire wrapped Indian Rose gemstone.

Sometimes I name collection of similar jewellery under the samtitle, example: Amy #1, Amy #2 etc.. Names can be given according to the components it contains. If it has a shell, I might name it something that has to do with the beach.

SOPHISTICATED CHARMS, is a necklace made out of seed beads and other beeds. Definately is sleek.

Names can be tied to emotions. And finally a Thesaurus definately comes in handy! :D I just flick through it looking for words that strike me and when they do, voila.

RAGING FIRE. The colour of the glass beads speaks for itself. A bright and rich hue that’s just eye capturing.

Assigning my jewellery numbers feels really impersonal so I tend to go all out. All my creations are little pieces of myself. Thats what every other artist will understand, and i hope those of you buying my jewellery understand it too.
